Purpose of Role: To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the
Home ensuring Residents' rooms, communal areas and office spaces are cleaned daily and residents have an adequate supply of clean linen, towels and clothing; ensuring residents' clothing is maintained. Following current Infection, Prevention and Control (IPC) Policies and Procedures in all tasks to minimise the spread of infection, take an active role in promoting good standards of IPC.
Report to the Home Manager or Maintenance any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard.
Ensure the laundry room is clean and tidy at all times. Maintain cleanliness of washing machine and dryers and ensure general care of machines is maintained to prevent breakdowns.
Ensure that personal laundry is correctly labelled and returned to the Resident for use after laundering, drying and ironing.
Bedding, towels, serviettes and other Home items are correctly returned to the linen cupboard and kitchen.
Undertake training as defined by the Health & Social Care Act and as directed by the Registered Manager.
Understand and ensure the implementation of the Care Home's Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.
Be willing to assist in other areas of the Home from time time to ensure continuity of care to Residents.
Be comfortable working alongside and interacting with people with Mental Health Conditions and Learning Disabilities.
