Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene to a high standard within a care home setting, ensuring a welcoming environment for residents and families. This role is crucial in upholding our high standards of hygiene and comfort, contributing to an exceptional service user experience.

Duties will include:

Ensuring residents' bedrooms are cleaned daily using appropriate cleaning supplies for the task in accordance with policies and procedures and manufacturer's instructions Cleaning, hoovering and dusting of lounges and hallways, other communal areas and office areas. Damp dusting, mopping floors and vacuuming as necessary Regular cleaning of bathrooms and toilets including shower trays, baths and tiles, Ensure all rubbish bins are emptied on a daily basis Cleaning of woodwork, surfaces and other areas as required. Clean spillages as required. Laundry duties including washing and ironing of residents' clothing and bedding Some stock control of cleaning supplies will be required Ensuring maintenance issues, faulty equipment or repairs needed are reported immediately to the Home Manager to prevent any risk of harm to residents and staff Completing housekeeping records for auditing by the Home Manager. Assisting when required in the kitchen and dining room during sickness and holiday periods.

Qualifications

Previous experience in housekeeping within a care home or similar environment is preferred but not essential. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly disposition. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Good physical stamina; must be able to lift moderate weights and stand for extended periods. Knowledge of C.O.S.H.H. and Infection Control and Prevention Procedures are an advantage. Basic cooking skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
