To provide residents with the highest standard of basic care and support, in accordance with the Homes' philosophy, policies and procedures and observing the individualised care plan whilst ensuring the confidentiality of the residents and the Home at all times.

Housekeeper Roles and Responsibility :
Customer Service
To promote the good reputation of the Home at all times.
To be helpful and courteous to all relatives, visitors, referring enquiries about the residents' care and well being to the Care Manager.
To report all compliments comments and complaints.
Housekeeping staff should not underestimate the value of their contact with residents or their therapeutic role within the home.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To build up good relationship with the residents.
Discussing with the resident and/or their key carer individual rights and choices in relation to room cleaning
To follow daily, weekly and monthly cleaning rotas
as listed below:
Ensure working within the HEALTH and
SAFETY guidelines
.
Daily cleaning routine:
Entrance
: Sweep paths; mop entrance hall and ramp; hoover hall and stairs; dust doors; collect post.
Toilets:
Brush toilets; clean seats and frames, mop floors, wipe window sills and tiles; clean sinks and taps; refresh disinfectant in brush holders.
Bathrooms
Clean baths, sinks and taps, window-sills and tiles; mop floors.
All Bedrooms
Clean sinks and taps; dust window-sills; empty litterbins; dust furniture, clean floor and make sure all beds tidy and clean. Ensure wardrobes and chest of drawers are checked cleaned and residents' clothes tidied.
Weekly:
Bedrooms
Windows, doors/paintwork; stairs and halls; high rails in double room and wipe ceiling lights
Laundry:
where domestic duties allow
Sorting washing, load and unload machines taking care to use correct temperatures depending on types of fabric.
Sluicing of linen where necessary, handwashing of resident's
Ironing and pressing of clothing and linen, as necessary.
Sorting and folding residents clothing ready for repair and putting away.
Ensure working within the infection control guidelines.
To undertake such other duties as may be determined from time to time within the general scope of the post.
Security
To ensure the security of the residents' property and the Homes' property and premises. Report and hand in any lost property.
Health and Safety
To understand and comply with the Homes' policy on Health and Safety at work.
To carry out all duties in such a way as to ensure the a safe use of resources and equipment.
To report all accidents, defects, damage, theft, breakages and hazards.
To assist with risk assessments.
To attend fire evacuation sessions and all training and instruction sessions.
To carry out all duties in a safe manner, having regard to the health, safety and welfare of self, staff, residents and other persons on the premises of the Home
Training and Development
To undertake and attend training and development activities as required.
To assist in the training of new care assistants.
To follow and accredited NVQ programme.
To participate in staff supervisions.
To take responsibility for personal/self-development and learning.
Personal Appearance
Adopt a neat, clean and tidy appearance at all times, and wear the Wear protective clothing in accordance with COSHH and Health and Hygiene regulations and Infection Control guidelines
Maintain the highest level of personal cleanliness and hygiene.
Policies and Procedures
To attend staff meetings when required.
To check the duty roster and sign to actual hours worked.
To adhere to the Homes' policies and procedures as contained in the manual held in the office.
To become familiar with the contents of the employee handbook or the employee information binder.

EXPERIENCE
Providing nice , clean environment for a vulnerable person
Customer service: face to face /telephone
Knowledge and understanding of dementia and people with dementia.
Experience in a residential setting or care setting.
Record keeping and quality assurance
Working as part of a team
QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory training in the care sector, manual handling, first aid, health and safety, infection control. Etc.
Desirable to have knowledge of care standards and Care council code of conduct
