Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeper/Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Earlswood Early Years Nursery. This vital role supports our commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children and staff alike. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food safety and cleanliness, contributing to our nurturing community.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assist with meal service, ensuring all food handling and safety standards are met. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, adhering to hygiene protocols. Support food preparation activities, including chopping, cooking, and plating. Manage kitchen supplies and ensure proper storage of food items. Assist with general housekeeping duties around the nursery to ensure a tidy environment. Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation. Collaborate with staff to support meal times and maintain a positive atmosphere. Contribute to creating a safe, clean, and welcoming space for children and staff.

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation or kitchen assistance preferred. Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices. Ability to handle kitchen tools skillfully, including knives. Strong attention to cleanliness and organization. Excellent communication skills. Previous experience working in a childcare or educational setting is a plus. Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the nursery environment.
