Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

To contribute to the provision of a safe, clean and comfortable environment for the residents, visitors and staff by providing housekeeping services that ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and laundry services.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Basic knowledge of Infection Control and COSHH A knowledge of Health & Safety Good attention to detail Ability to carry out instruction accurately Satisfactory level of verbal and written English Ability to communicate effectively and constructively at all levels Capable to work effectively as part of a team. Satisfactory DBS checks
Desirable:

Previous experience in a housekeeping setting.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

To be sensitive to the privacy, dignity and individual needs of our residents. To comply with COSHH and Health & Safety regulations. To adhere to infection control and the company housekeeping procedures at all times. To ensure the correct use of PPE. To ensure that all equipment and machinery is correctly and safely used and kept in a good
condition.

Carry out any adhoc duties as requested by Manager. To ensure all necessary documentation is completed daily. Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene. To maintain standards of infection control within the home and to assist residents to maintain their own infection control needs. To communicate effectively with the management, nursing & care staff about any issues regarding housekeeping. Carry out all cleaning duties as directed by the Housekeeping Manager to the required Company standards. Cleaning duties are usually allocated by floor but can be in any area of the Home. Ensure that daily and deep cleaning schedules are completed accurately and documented. Ensure that all cleaning equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in safe condition. To ensure cleaning trolleys are re-stocked at the end of your shift and cleaning cupboards left clean & tidy. To ensure the laundry of residents clothing is to the highest standard, including ironing. Ensure the laundry is collected and returned to the correct area of the home on a regular basis, and personal clothing of residents is put away in a neat and tidy manner. Ensure that all residents' wardrobes and clothing drawers are kept clean, neat and tidy.

Training and Development:

Maintain professional knowledge and competence. Attend scheduled meetings and training Complete mandatory training and attend specific training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.
Health & Safety:

Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Client, colleague, self or another. Understand, and ensure the implementation of Hill House Nursing Home Ltd.'s Health & Safety policy & Emergency and Fire procedures. Report to the Home Manager, or the Handyperson, any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard and write it in the maintenance log on reception. Promote safe working practice within Hill House Nursing Home Ltd.
GENERAL:

The post holder must at all times respect the confidentiality of information in line with the requirements of GDPR. Promote and ensure the good reputation of the company. Notify the Home Manager, or the Person in Charge, as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty, and also on your return to work from all periods of absence. Ensure the security of the Care Home is maintained at all times. Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales. Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you.
