Job Description

St Beuno's is a 60-bedroom retreat centre situated near St Asaph with stunning views over the surrounding hills.

We are looking for a self-motivated person to join and lead our small team of cleaning staff. The role is for 40 hours per week mostly Monday to Friday plus occasional weekend work, depending on the rota. This role will pay 14.00 per hour.

The successful candidate will work with the House Manager to ensure a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout St Beuno's, showing courtesy and professionalism appropriate to the Centre's purpose as a place of prayer and peace.

NB Owing to the rural location you will need your own transport to get to St Beuno's.

Main responsibilities will include:

To motivate and lead a team of cleaners to ensure high standards are maintained

To organise rotas in good time, considering occupancy, which varies from week to week and general house cleaning duties

To perform a variety of cleaning activities ensuring cleanliness in guest rooms and across the Centre

To maintain an orderly stock room and keep an inventory of all housekeeping supplies to ensure adequate supplies are always available, organising the ordering of supplies as necessary

To meet regularly with the House Manager to make recommendations and discuss any concerns

To ensure all rooms are up to standard with a regular programme of deep cleaning, pro-actively reporting any maintenance issues

To deal with complaints / requests with professionalism and patience

To adhere to the Health and Safety at Work act, undergoing health and safety training as necessary and knowledge of COSHH

To undertake any other duties as directed that may fall within the scope of this position

To be considered for this role we need someone who:

Has experience of cleaning / housekeeping and supervising staff

Can lead others as well as work as part of a team

Can prioritize work and remain calm under pressure

Is practical and proactive
