We are looking for a Housing Assistant who can work as part of the Housing Customer Services team. You will be delivering a customer focused front line service, processing enquiries relating to tenancy issues, rental payments and maintenance requests. As part of this role, you will be providing administrative support and assistance to officers in the housing section.
If you have excellent customer service skills and can communicate effectively with the public, along with the ability to observe confidentiality then we would welcome an application from you.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
3 GCSEs, including English and Mathematics, Grade C or above or equivalent.
Understanding of admin processes with experience in organising office operations, managing records.
Good communication, excellent customer care skills and ability to deal politely and effectively with the public.
Ability to observe confidentiality in all aspects of work.
Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative as well as having the commitment, flexibility and motivation to be a constructive member of a Team.
Proficient in the use of software (e.g., MS Office 365, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
Desirable
Chartered Institute of Housing Level 2 Qualification or equivalent.
Experience of working in a housing service or a customer-facing environment.
Experience of local government.
An understanding of the operations and functions of a local authority.
Knowledge of the Council's Standing Orders, Financial Regulations and the Isle of Man Government Procedures for Capital Projects (including requirements for Petitioning purposes).
