Job description for support staff

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Welfare Worker to join our team, providing essential support to individuals in need of care. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, working with people in their own homes, homelessness settings, mental health, substance misuse.

This role involves working closely with individuals with physical disabilities, substance misuse, mental health issues and clients on probation, ensuring their well-being, safety and enhancing their quality of life.

Duties

Encourage personal care and maintenance of the property*
Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each client's needs.*
Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.*
Support clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.*
Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and prevent isolation.*
Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.*
Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to support clients.*
Collaborate with families and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive case management.*

Requirements

Previous experience in a caring or working with the homeless is essential.*
First aid certification is preferred.*
Strong organisational skills with the ability to develop effective care plans.*
Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.*
A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as needed.*
A caring attitude towards individuals in need of support combined with a commitment to enhancing their quality of life.*
