This post will play a key role in the provision of a truly innovative, psychologically and trauma informed model of support for young people in Cardiff who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. This ambitious project aims to make youth homelessness rare, brief and non-recurrent.


This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of the solution to end homelessness for young people, by equipping them with the necessary tools to overcome adversity, harnesses their potential, goals and dreams to enjoy a brighter future.


Support will be modelled on the 'The Housing First' approach to enable young people with complex needs to maintain a tenancy and enjoy having a home. It will involve working with each young person to explore their strengths, goals and aspirations, providing specific support around their personal, emotional and psychological needs equipping them with coping skills and tools to improve emotional resilience to prevent future homelessness.


This is the first Housing First for Young People Scheme in Cardiff and as such it is a really exciting time to join at the inception of such a project and be part of its creation and development. There is a real need for this scheme in Cardiff in order to accommodate young people whose needs mean that they have been unable to access supported accommodation and require a high level of flexible person centred support.


Llamau is leading the My Way Home Partnership in Cardiff working alongside strategic, research and delivery partners including Cardiff Council, Cardiff University, Welsh Refugee Council, Cadwyn Housing Association, United Welsh Housing Association, Platfform, Cardiff and Vale Health Board.

Bydd cymorth yn cael ei fodelu ar y dull 'Tai yn Gyntaf' er mwyn galluogi pobl ifanc sydd ag anghenion cymhleth i gynnal tenantiaeth ac i fwynhau cael cartref. Bydd yn cynnwys gweithio gyda phob person ifanc i ddatblygu eu cryfderau, nodau a dyheadau, gan gynnig cymorth penodol ynghylch eu hanghenion personol, emosiynol a seicolegol, gan eu cyfarparu nhw a sgiliau ymdopi ac offer i wella gwytnwch emosiynol, er mwyn atal digartrefedd yn y dyfodol.


Hwn yw'r tro cyntaf i ni gynnal Cynllun Tai yn Gyntaf i Bobl Ifanc yng Nghaerdydd, ac mae'n gyfnod hynod gyffrous i ymuno a ni, ar ddechrau prosiect o'r fath, ac i fod yn rhan o'r gwaith cynllunio a datblygu. Mae angen gwirioneddol am y cynllun hwn yng Nghaerdydd er mwyn cefnogi pobl ifanc y mae eu hanghenion yn golygu nad ydynt wedi gallu cael mynediad at lety a chymorth, ac mae angen lefel uchel o gymorth hyblyg, sy'n canolbwyntio ar y person, arnynt.

At Llamau we believe that no young person or vulnerable woman should ever have to experience homelessness. Our mission is to eradicate homelessness for young people and vulnerable women. But for thousands of the most vulnerable people in Wales, homelessness is a frightening reality.


30 years ago Llamau was founded to provide homeless teenagers with a safe place to stay. Since then, we have supported over 67,000 young people, women and their children who are either homeless or facing homelessness.


Many people think the job of a homelessness charity will be to provide accommodation - a safe place to stay. But it is very clear to us that for most people who are facing homelessness, their problems are far more complex than a lack of permanent shelter.


That's why we treat everyone who needs our support as an individual. We recognise their unique strengths and needs and make sure that they are supported to rebuild their futures.
