We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of housing management specialists at the 48th Civil Engineering Squadron , Royal Air Force (RAF) Lakenheath , United Kingdom.
What will be your primary role?
The primary purpose of this position is to manage day-to-day operations of permanent party unaccompanied housing facilities to include dormitories, unaccompanied quarters and adjacent service facilities and surrounding grounds. The individual will plan and coordinate the activities of the Unaccompanied Housing Program, ensuring the program complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. They will represent Unaccompanied Housing Section with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. The incumbent will also Manages Unaccompanied Housing administrative operations with responsibility for Unaccompanied Housing planning and activity performance as well as serves as the Base Civil Engineer's representative for unaccompanied housing matters. They will also independently conduct joint resident-management quarters inspections to evaluate the cleanliness, maintenance, and habitability of the unit, furnishings, equipment, and facilities.

F-35/F-15 fighter wing. Historically, the 48th FW has been the foundation of USAFE's combat capability and remains so today. The Liberty Wing led the El Dorado Canyon raids into Libya in 1986 and was the first F-111 fighter unit to deploy to the Gulf during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. The Liberty Wing also anchored NATO forces during Operations Deliberate Force and Allied Force. Since September 11, 2001, the 48th FW has played a key role in antiterrorism operations, flying combat missions and providing combat support in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
What are the Key Skills required for this role?
1. Knowledge of DoD, HQ USAF, and MAJCOM Unaccompanied Housing (UH) principles, theory, policies, directives and procedures.
2. Knowledge of appropriated and non-appropriated funding policies and procedures and the skill in developing budget justifications.
3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Skill in conducting audits or studies, evaluating the results, determining the feasibility of necessary repairs and/or improvements, and scheduling /coordinating corrective actions.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals, both orally and in writing.
6. Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and methodology related to housing referral and relocation support services.
What are the conditions of employment for this role?
1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations.
2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential.
3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period (remember to change if firefighter).
4. Overtime may be required.
5. You may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
6. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
7. May be required to travel away from normal duty station for TDY or training as directed by management, sometimes on short notice and including overnight stays, traveling by military or commercial aircraft or by any other designated means.
7. Work may include some overtime but is not guaranteed.
8. The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate CAT B, UK valid driver's license is required for the position.
9. Employee may be required to facilitate an on-call function over a 24-hour period covering 7 days a week as per the manning roster. On-call allowance of 16 per day is activated only during the period of time the employee is performing the function of the on-call responsibilities.
10. The Local National Direct Hire (LNDH) Program does not participate in regular drug testing; however, positions covered by this document may be subject to drug testing upon reasonable suspicion of substance abuse, and safety mishap or accident testing.
11. Your hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week on a Fixed Schedule (Mon-Fri 0800-1630) where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization's flexible working policies
