We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Housing Managers at the 423rd Civil Engineering Squadron, Royal Air Force (RAF) Alconbury, United Kingdom.

What will be your primary role?



The primary purpose of this position is to develop management plans and directives concerning the operation and utilization of all RAF Alconbury permanent party housing assets including family housing, general officer quarters, unaccompanied officer quarters, unaccompanied non-commissioned officer quarters rooms, unaccompanied enlisted personnel housing, Basic Allowance for Housing, Furnishings Management Operations, and housing relocation assistance/referral. This position typically works on a medium to large installation where programs involve complex to unusually complex housing assignments. You will direct the administration, occupancy, termination, and contract activities of all permanent party and government-controlled housing, including accompanied and unaccompanied personnel. You will ensure incoming occupants are provided housing that meets AF standards. You will manage the off-base housing referral program through locally established policies and procedures and liaise with civil authorities and property owners/agents and provide detailed information to members on available housing in the area.

One year's specialized experience in a similar role at the appropriate level is required.

What are the Key Skills required for this role?



1. Knowledge of housing and furnishing management principles, theory, policies, directives, and procedures.

2. Knowledge of appropriated fund budget system sufficient to justify budget submissions and contracting provisions sufficient to ensure proper negotiations or commitment of government funds.

3. Skill in analyzing, interpreting, and applying a wide variety of policy and procedures.

4. Skill in conducting regular or periodic audits or studies and evaluating results to assess accomplishment of program requirements.

5. Skill in effective oral and written communication.

6. Ability to lead, manage, and supervise a staff.

What are the conditions of employment for this role?



1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations.

2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.

3. This position may also be coded as mission essential.

4. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.

5. Hours of work: 37.5 hours weekly. Fixed schedule: Mon-Fri 0800-1630. Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with organization's flexible working policies.

6. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.

7. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

8. You must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.

9. A Professional housing certification is desirable.
