Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Housing Officer to oversee the operational management of our supported accommodation facilities. This position combines property management, compliance oversight, and resident support coordination, requiring a detail-oriented professional who can maintain high standards whilst fostering a supportive living environment.
Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesCompliance Management
The Housing Officer will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive compliance across all aspects of our facilities:
Conducting regular property inspections and maintaining thorough documentation
Ensuring all necessary certificates are current and properly filed
Managing and supervising maintenance and housekeeping staff to ensure service delivery standards
Overseeing heating systems and Hive smart technology management
Maintaining security systems including CCTV infrastructure
Managing appliance maintenance, care and warranty documentation
Overseeing company vehicle maintenance and compliance
Managing property-related costs and budgets
Ensuring tenant compliance with accommodation rules and regulations
Administering and reviewing tenant service charges
Maintenance Coordination
The role includes comprehensive maintenance management:
Developing and implementing routine maintenance schedules
Coordinating with external contractors and ensuring quality of works
Managing maintenance stock levels and procurement processes
Responding to emergency maintenance issues
Documenting all maintenance activities and creating reports
Hygiene and Housekeeping Oversight
Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene is essential:
Developing and supervising cleaning rotas for all communal areas
Managing cleaning supplies inventory and procurement
Coordinating end-of-tenancy cleaning processes
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Maintaining cleaning records and quality control measures
Essential Requirements
Minimum 3 years' experience in supported housing or similar residential property management
Comprehensive knowledge of housing regulations and compliance requirements
Excellent organisational and documentation skills
Proven experience in staff supervision and contractor management
Strong budget management abilities
Proficiency in property management software systems
Full, clean UK driving licence

Working Arrangements
Full-time 9-5 Mon-Fri, permanent position
Occasional on-call duties required
Physical demands include walking properties, climbing stairs, and inspecting facilities
Must be comfortable working in various weather conditions during external inspections
May require occasional weekend or evening work for emergencies or special projects
