Role Purpose


As a Housing Officer, you will deliver high-quality housing management services to our tenants, supporting them to sustain their tenancies and access the support they need. You will manage a portfolio of supported properties, working closely with residents, families, and partner agencies to ensure safe, secure, and well-maintained accommodation.


Key Responsibilities


Manage a designated area of supported accommodation, ensuring tenancy retention and compliance with housing legislation.

Provide tenants with information and advice regarding their rights, responsibilities, and available support, including welfare benefits and housing options.

Handle tenancy issues such as rent arrears, anti-social behaviour, and complaints, taking preventive or enforcement actions as necessary.

Conduct regular property inspections, organise maintenance, and ensure properties meet safety and quality standards.

Prepare and oversee tenancy agreements, welcome packs, and notices to vacate.

Liaise with local authorities, support workers, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive support for tenants.

Keep accurate records of interactions, outcomes, and property management activities.

Promote resident involvement and empowerment, supporting community development and inclusion.

Stay informed about changes in housing law, policy, and best practices.

Person Specification


Essential:


Experience in housing management, supported housing, or related social care roles.

Strong understanding of UK housing law and welfare benefits.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

Empathy, resilience, and a non-judgmental attitude.

Ability to manage a busy workload and work independently.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and housing management systems.
