Wealden District Council owns its own stock and therefore we work within a very busy environment nominating between 500 and 800 times per year. Working within the Council's Housing team, you will be responsible for the day to day administration of the Housing Register and Allocations scheme, including making decisions and conducting investigations to determine eligibility for, and allocating, social housing.

What will you be doing?
Ensuring that all new applicants are registered, advertise properties, shortlist and re-assess successful applicants and nominate successful applicants to Housing Management or Registered Providers
Liaising with clients who are experiencing difficulties with their applications to ensure that they can join the register.
Maintaining good working relationships with landlords regarding tenancies
Maintaining records and obtaining statistical or performance information, routine correspondence, assistance and support to the Housing Options team

What do you need?
The ability to understand, interpret and convey complex information and proven experience of communicating with challenging customers.
Good ICT skills
Previous experience of the software system Locata and Allocations in a busy social housing environment, and experience of processing and assessing housing applications
Experience of advertising and shortlisting properties under a choice-based lettings scheme and knowledge of local government services would be advantageous.
