We're looking for a compassionate and proactive individual to join our Extra Care team as a
Housing-Related Support Officer
. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of older and vulnerable residents, helping them live independently and happily in their homes.
You'll be based across three Extra Care schemes, providing tailored support to customers --from helping with tenancy management and finances to organising social activities and promoting wellbeing. You'll work closely with care staff, housing colleagues, and external partners to ensure residents feel safe, supported, and part of a thriving community.
What You'll Be Doing
Supporting tenants to maintain their tenancies and live independently
Assisting with budgeting, benefits, repairs, and personal admin
Setting up and running social activities to reduce isolation and build community
Responding to changes in tenants' circumstances (e.g. health, bereavement, hospital discharge)
Tackling anti-social behaviour and working with agencies to improve community safety
Carrying out assessments and creating personalised support plans
Encouraging tenant involvement and promoting the use of assistive technology
Liaising with Somerset Lifeline and emergency response services
What We're Looking For
A full UK driving licence
A genuine desire to support vulnerable people
Strong communication, IT, and organisational skills
Confidence working with a range of partners and agencies
A problem-solving mindset and a flexible, person-centred approach
