About the Role
As a Support Worker, you'll provide housing-related and holistic support to tenants as they rebuild their lives. You'll assist with tenancy management, benefits access, health and wellbeing, and steps into work or education. You'll be based at our Swinton office and work across the Greater Manchester area.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct assessments and sign up new tenants into our service
Support clients with Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, and welfare entitlements
Complete support plans and risk assessments tailored to each individual
Maintain detailed records using our CRM and in-house systems
Teach life skills and promote steps toward employment or training
Liaise with GPs, local authorities, housing services, and other agencies
Monitor property conditions and report repairs or tenancy breaches
Manage challenging behaviours and initiate tenancy enforcement if required
Essential Skills and Qualities
Compassionate, non-judgemental, and resilient
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confident managing your own diary and working independently
Proficient with IT systems including email and basic admin software
Aware of safeguarding and professional boundaries
Comfortable handling conflict and supporting individuals in crisis
Full UK driving licence and access to a car with business insurance
Desirable Experience
Experience supporting refugees, asylum seekers, or vulnerable adults
Understanding of Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, and tenancy law
Background in supported housing, advice, or social care or equivalent degree
Knowledge of safeguarding and trauma-informed support
Ability to speak additional languages
Experience working across multi-agency or culturally diverse environments
