SUMMARY:



The HPU Design Engineer will primarily provide Engineering support for Hydraulic Power Unit's and associated equipment. The focus will be on HPU product design for both internal application and external bespoke designs to suit customer specifications and requirements. The role will cover 3D and 2D CAD / Solidworks produced assembly drawings, machining drawings, bill of materials, review of sub-contractor drawings, development of new and bespoke product design, perform Engineering calculations and compilation of associated documentation. The role will also perform other duties as detailed below to meet company requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



Produce drawings using Solidworks / CAD software. Assembly drawings including detailed Bill of Materials. Machining drawings to allow sub-contracted machining activities. Schematic drawings for HPU and control systems. Wiring diagrams. Any other drawings to meet Business needs. Provide Engineering assistance in the design of new and bespoke equipment. Provide Engineering knowledge and assistance for the design of Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Controls and Automation areas of the Business. Assist operations with any dimensional activities that may be required. Control and issue of completed drawings. Review and checking of drawings provided by sub-contractors and clients. Machining / fabrication drawings. Schematic drawings of HPU, actuation, control systems and associated equipment. P&ID's Produce Detailed Engineering calculations to verify HSP designed components / equipment using MathCAD software. Provide assistance to the QA department. Dimensional checking and verification of machined components received from sub-contractors. Provide technical assistance to the Sales and Project Management Team to support Business needs. Conduct site visits to suppliers, sub-contractors and other HSP locations to support Business requirements. Ad hoc duties as required in line with your role & responsibilities. should have:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent Previous experience in the design of Hydraulic Power Units and associated equipment Strong knowledge of hydraulics, fluid mechanics and system design Knowledge of Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Knowledge of Solidworks Software preferable Knowledge of 3D and 2D design packages for modelling and drawing Experience in dimensional analysis using various measuring equipment Knowledge of Microsoft 365
