HR Administrator

37.5 hours per week- office based

Fixed Term Contract 3 months

Salary \xc2\xa328,000 pro rata

This role is based in Canterbury city centre with wonderful views of Canterbury cathedral!

The role

  • Support the Human Resources Officer in any overflow capacity from their role, this may include drafting and posting recruitment adverts, contract drafting, offer letters and on boarding practice.
  • Be a main point of contact using the HR General inbox to respond to queries from staff and volunteers.
  • Respond to relevant queries from the HR shared inboxes - DBS, Training
  • File email contact appropriately documenting decisions taken, or messages given.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Human Resources Manager, including diary management and maintaining the personnel filing system.
  • Deal with general HR related correspondence and queries from employees.
  • Prepare and deliver staff inductions.
  • Ensure all new employees provide appropriate and necessary documentation prior to commencing employment.
  • Be responsible for migrant workers eligibility to work in the UK, checking Visas accordingly and maintaining a database of non EU national employees.
  • Support the HR officer monitoring the probationary period process, issue initial performance appraisal documentation and completion letters accordingly.
  • Maintain HR databases
  • Report regularly to the Human Resources Manager on any failures to compliance, providing a monthly update for leadership meetings.
  • Implement an action plan to rectify areas of non-compliance and improvements to existing practice.
Person Specification
  • Educated to a good level, including English, written,spoken and read and Math
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Qualified or by experience in audit practices and administrative processes
Experience of working in within a compliance landscape

Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures

Experience undertaking audit type activities

Experience in report writing

Experience in drafting documents for use cross organisationally such as template documents

A strong administrator with a critical eye

Ability to create logical routes to problem solving

Ability to communicate effectively with people at all ages and at all levels.

Ability to work quickly and efficiently whilst maintaining standards

This role is subject to interview and an immediate start for the successful person. You must be available for a minimum of 3 months , working 37.5 per week.
