About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Adviser with a demonstratable in Local Government Pay and Reward. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to strategic HR projects and deliver significant value across a varied workforce. Key responsibilities include:


Leading and supporting pay and reward initiatives that align with organisational objectives and industry best practice. Developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies to ensure legal compliance and operational efficiency. Managing consultation processes with stakeholders such as trade unions and employee groups. Providing expert guidance on employment terms and conditions, encompassing frameworks including Soulbury, Teachers, Green Book, and Grey Book. Ensuring that HR procedures comply with current employment legislation and sector-specific guidance. Collaborating with internal teams to ensure robust, consistent, and fair HR solutions organisation-wide.

This is a career grade position; your starting salary will be determined by relevant experience and qualifications.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will need proven experience in Local Government HR, with a particular focus on pay and reward initiatives and practices. A strong track record in policy development and consultation is essential, as is an in-depth understanding of employment frameworks such as Soulbury, Teachers, Green Book, and Grey Book. You should possess up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice, alongside excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. The ability to manage complex projects and deliver results in a dynamic environment is also vital.
