Braintree District Council is embarking on an exciting transformation journey and move into a unitary Authority in 2028 and we are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join us on this journey.
As part of our People and Performance Team, you will deliver exceptional HR services and support people initiatives by providing expert HR advice in a positive workplace culture. You will ensure best practice in employee relations and have good general knowledge of employment legislation.
You will play a key role in the full employee lifecycle with a focus on effective data management, payroll, use of the HR information system and streamlining processes. As an experienced professional you will be providing expert guidance and support to managers and employees across a range of HR matters.
We are looking for someone with excellent HR generalist experience, ideally in a local authority or public sector setting. Essential requirements include experience in recruitment, payroll and employee relations, along with strong IT skills, including data analysis and using metrics to drive improvements. Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills are a must, along with a positive, proactive attitude and a strong team-oriented approach.
