We are seeking to appoint an experienced HR Advisor to join our team to deliver a high quality, consistent people support to line managers and employees, and provide consistent and clear advice on the full range of employment relations policies. The role will also support a number of key company processes and systems which are critical to the HR function.
The role will act as the first line of contact for the company's employee relation matters, and provide high quality consistent advice, support and guidance to managers and employees on all HR related queries.
The role will play a key role in delivering the wider development of the company's HR function. The successful candidate will have excellent ICT skills along with a detailed knowledge of HR working practices. Candidates will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills. It is essential that candidates are able to plan, organise and prioritise their own workload.
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities
To be the company's subject matter expert in dealing with employee relations matters.
Support line managers in the management of complex employee relations cases from an end-to-end perspective including the management of Employment Tribunal Cases including advice and provide support to managers in advance of and following key employee relations meetings.
Attend key employee relations meetings with line managers.
Provide line managers and employees with advice and support on the application of DLL employment policies, including Disciplinary, Grievance/Disputes, Managing Sickness Absence and Managing Performance.
Support the company's sickness absence management processes directly with line managers and Executive Management as required - to include associated reporting.
Support the company's safer recruitment management processes directly with line managers and Executive Management as required - to include associated reporting.
Coach line managers on the application of people management policies and procedures, as appropriate.
Continually monitor the provision of employee relations advice, processes and practices and suggest improvements, modification or enhancement in accordance with company need, legislation or recognised good practice.
Identify trends and patterns in cases and use to inform future developments to the company policies & procedures.
To develop Human Resources policies, programs and practices in accordance with company's needs, legislation or recognised good practice in order to build line manager capability to resolve issues informally or without recourse to the company.
To assist in the development of HR critical areas such as workforce planning, performance, talent management, organisation development, change and leadership within the company.

Lead and contribute to the planning, development and organisation of HR systems/procedures/policies.
Organise internal training events as required.
Manage and analyse manual and computerised records/information systems - to include large sets of data from a variety of sources and identify and prioritise actions appropriately.
Compile and collate complex documents and other HR based tasks.
Ability to operate ICT packages (e.g. Word, Excel, databases, spreadsheets, internet)
Undertake other relevant duties as agreed by Line Manager.
Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Knowledge and Experience
Experience of dealing with employee relations matters, to include a working knowledge and application of key employee relations policies and procedures and employment legislation.
A comprehensive understanding of how employee relations need to be managed, ideally in a complex unionised environment.
Experience of general HR support and administration.
CIPD Qualified (or equivalent) or 3 years' experience of working within a relevant HR role.
Excellent numeracy/literacy skills.
Excellent communication skills - the ability to communicate effectively with people with different backgrounds and at all levels to enable delivery of quality advice.
Liaising with managers, employees, and other agencies on a wide range of HR issues.
Effective use of ICT equipment.
Excellent ICT skills.
Work constructively as part of a team, understanding roles and responsibilities.
Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
Ensure confidentiality, tact and diplomacy are maintained.
