As HR Advisor, you'll play a key role in managing and resolving employee relations (ER) cases, from disciplinary and grievance issues to performance and absence management. You'll provide expert HR advice, coach managers, and contribute to key people strategy projects, driving continuous improvement across the business.

regional travel across Manchester, Preston, and Liverpool

About You:

You'll be confident, approachable, with good communication skills and can balance empathy with a practical, business-focused approach. With solid knowledge of UK employment law and experience in advising on ER matters, including disciplinary actions, performance management, absence, advising on policy and supporting managers to get the best from their teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Key contact for employee relations
: Take ownership of ER cases, providing practical, solution-focused advice on performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances, absence, and more.
Advise and coach managers:
Be the go-to expert for all things HR, empowering managers to handle HR issues confidently and compliantly.
Support recruitment and onboarding:
Ensure a smooth recruitment process, adhering to our safer recruitment policies.
Compliance and audits:
Conduct regular HR audits and ensure all processes are in line with best practice and legal requirements.
Employee engagement and wellbeing:
Collaborate with the HR Business
Partner and Head of HR to deliver initiatives that boost employee engagement and wellbeing.
Deliver HR training:
Equip managers with the knowledge and skills to manage their teams effectively by delivering training on navigating HR policies and processes.
HR records and payroll:
Work closely with our Payroll & Data Officer to keep workforce records up to date and ensure accurate payroll administration.
Conduct exit interviews:
Gather insights from exit interviews to help improve employee retention.
Maintain confidentiality:
Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with data protection laws.
Requirements:
Experienced HR generalist ideally as an Advisor
Demonstratable experience handling complex ER cases and advising managers on HR polices and processes
Strong communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to influence and coach managers
Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and HR databases.
Able to work on your own initiative and prioritise tasks effectively.
Solid understanding of UK employment law.
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Satisfactory basic DBS check.
