Job Description

You will work closely with the HR Director, HR Manager and Cornwall based HR Advisor in all aspects of HR management (employee relations, performance, conduct, sickness, leave etc). You will have specific areas of responsibility and will also cover days off and absence from other members of the HR team. This will occasionally require travel to Cornwall as necessary.

Particular areas of responsibility would include:

policy reviews and implementation to ensure compliance with latest legislation and current employment practice. You will need to be able to up-date our written policies and practical procedures to ensure they are up-to-date. You should be confident to create new policies as required;

assisting the Registered Managers and HR team with recruitment across the homes, including staff under the Sponsorship Licence, assisting with advertising, Induction process, probation reviews, contracts of employment and engagement for all types of staff;

recruitment of overseas staff and managing reporting requirements to the Home Office;

aligning terms of employment and staff benefits;

implementation of new Induction process;

carrying out staff audits;

assisting with meetings and drafting minutes;

liaising with staff and Registered Managers;

assisting with the implementation of new HR projects;

assisting in relation to HR to successfully grow and develop the business;

Your named employer will be Jammac Care Group Ltd. However, you will work across the homes and for our Group company. You will primarily report to the HR Manager and the HR Director.

Our care homes are Highborder Lodge (Stonehouse), Longview (Goonhavern), Lilena (Newquay), The Crescent (Newquay), Rowan House (Saltash), St. Clair (Camborne) and our Domiciliary Care Agency is run through Rowan House.

Experience and qualifications:



Significant experience of HR management is essential. You will be required to work alone and be able to deal with all aspects of HR management. You should be confident and able to have difficult conversations with managers and staff.

Experience of recruiting staff under a Sponsorship Licence and knowledge of the Home Office processes and procedures and the SMS system is desired, but not essential.

You will need to be based in Stonehouse/Stroud/Gloucester area and be confident and able to drive to Highborder initially and between all homes as necessary. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence.

Hours

: 30 hours per week (10am-4pm Monday to Friday). Work times can be flexible provided within normal office hours, but 5 days per week (Monday to Friday) required

Place of work

: Based at home (Stroud/Gloucester area) with regular attendance at Highborder Lodge Care Home, Stonehouse and any future care homes purchased in the area. Occasional travel also required to any other care homes within the Group as necessary.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 35,000.00 per year
