Summary
The role of the HR Assistant is to provide administrative support to the HR Lead, primarily in recruitment, onboarding and maintaining employee records, whilst ensuring confidentiality and accuracy at all times.
The HR Department offers both internal and external HR Support, and the postholder will need to be onsite a minimum of one day a week at our customers premises (Towcester Racecourse) to provide hands on support.
This is a newly created role designed for someone looking to further their career in HR or return to the profession, CIPD Level 3 Apprenticeships will be happily considered.
Responsibilities
Recruitment Support
Assisting with job postings
Liaising with agencies for temporary and contract roles, ensuring staff coverage at busy periods
Reviewing resumes and applications
Scheduling and coordinating interviews
Conducting candidate reference checks.
Records Management
Maintaining and updating employee records in HR databases.
Ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
Managing employee files and documentation
Onboarding and Orientation
Assisting with new employee onboarding and orientation processes.
Preparing onboarding materials and documents.
Coordinating training sessions and activities.
Payroll support
Assisting with payroll processing and data entry.
Tracking employee attendance and time off.
General Administration
General Administrative Support to the HR Lead as required.
Answering phones and directing calls.
Scheduling meetings and appointments.
Filing and organizing HR documents.
Ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures.
Staying up-to-date on relevant employment laws and regulations.
Requirements
A background in HR is advantageous
CIPD Level 3 qualified is advantageous but not essential.
Good understanding of GDPR and a strong respect for confidentiality.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Computer literate, knowledge of HRIS is advantageous.
Excellent Communication Skills: Both written and verbal.
Accuracy in data entry and record-keeping is paramount.
Administrative experience in an HR environment preferred.
Recruitment experience is advantageous.
