Responsibilities


The role is an interesting HR operational role, supporting across all areas of the Electrolyte business. You will be part of the site management team and will be required to develop the site HR strategy to support the local business strategy, recognising the anticipated growth and site expansion for this business. A key aspect of the role is to develop and lead the employee relations approach and processes for the site with the recognised Union. This will include arranging regular meetings and leading pay discussions. Lead the succession planning and talent management for the local site, working with the senior team to establish future succession, talent management requirements and early careers opportunities for the site and clear plans to resource those requirements include resource forecasting. Ensure that the PDR process is embedded within the business and that the management team are confident to deliver this process consistently across all teams on site. This will require you to work with the management team to ensure that SMART objectives are agreed for all employees and that development and training plans are in place. Work with the L&D service to ensure that appropriate training is booked and delivered, recognising the safety requirements of the working environment. This will be supported by working with management to undertake a gap-analysis for each role to identify any outstanding training or development requirements. Provide upskilling to the management team as and when required to ensure that the management team are aware of and confident in the delivery of our people processes. This will be provided in the form of verbal updates via meetings, coaching, email communication and providing in-house training. Although the role is part of the wider EMEA HR team, the day-to-day aspects are very much stand alone and they will work independently to manage the delivery of the HR and L&D service to the site accessing the wider HR/L&D administration, recruitment and payroll services as required.




Requirements


You understand the current and future employment law, an extensive knowledge of a wide range of HR policies and procedures and must be able to effectively interpret, implement and review them. You will be an experienced generalist HR professional with 5+ years' experience of working in a similar level role which has included employee relations management. You will be degree qualified with a professional HR qualification to CIPD Level 7. Experience of working with and influencing at a senior management level is essential across a broad range of HR topics. Preferably you have experience with supporting or leading change within a business. Ideally you are experienced in being part of a business that is going through a period of growth and expansion and can demonstrate their ability to support a management team in guiding employees through change, including reviewing and updating internal people processes to support the change. Strong interpersonal skills are required in order to be able to confidently and independently advise at all levels and with all groups of employees (unionised and non-unionised), managers and the senior management team. Good conceptual and analytical thinking are essential as well as attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
