We're pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for two strategic and experienced HR Business Partners to join our team. You'll be part of a supportive team that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This role is pivotal in shaping and delivering high-quality HR solutions that support the Council's priorities and drive organisational success.



As a strategic partner to the Directorate Leadership Team and Strategic Director, you will lead on corporate HR projects and commission support from the HR Service Consultancy team. You'll provide expert advice on employment law, policy development, and complex casework, including disciplinary, capability, and grievance matters.



You'll work closely with the Head of Human Resources (Policy and Operations) to support a wide range of HR activities, including:


Leading the development and implementation of Council-wide HR policies and strategies Managing high-level employment relations casework and representing the Council at Employment Tribunals Driving major change initiatives and ensuring effective risk management Supporting workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning Advising on budgetary implications and identifying efficiencies in staffing and service delivery Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Managing and developing a team of HR professionals




We're seeking someone who:


Has substantial experience in HR leadership, policy development, and strategic planning Is CIPD qualified (Chartered Member status desirable) Has a strong track record in managing complex casework and employment law matters Demonstrates excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills Is passionate about delivering customer-focused HR services and continuous improvement

Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year.
