safeguarding and regulatory excellence, we are recruiting an HR Compliance Officer

to ensure our team meets all legal and operational standards required for working

with children.

Role Overview

The HR Compliance Officer will be responsible for managing all safer recruitment

checks, DBS processes, safeguarding compliance, and staff documentation. This role

ensures the organisation meets its legal responsibilities and maintains the highest

standards of safety and professionalism.

You will maintain accurate records, oversee compliance processes, and support the

leadership team in ensuring that all staff are fully vetted, trained, and legally compliant

before working with children.

Key Responsibilities

? Manage and process DBS checks for all staff and volunteers

? Oversee safeguarding training compliance, including monitoring renewal dates

? Ensure safer recruitment protocols are followed, including reference collection

and employment history checks

? Verify identity, right-to-work documentation, qualifications, and certifications

? Maintain secure and up-to-date personnel and compliance records

? Support the onboarding of new starters by ensuring all compliance

requirements are met before start dates

? Keep organisational policies updated in line with legislation and best practice

? Support internal audits and prepare documentation for inspections or

regulatory reviews

? Liaise with training providers and external agencies where needed

? Provide regular reports to management on compliance status and risk areas

About You

Essential Skills & Experience

? Previous experience in HR, safeguarding, or compliance

? Strong knowledge of DBS processes and safer recruitment standards

? Understanding of safeguarding legislation relating to children

? Excellent organisational and administrative skills

? High level of attention to detail

? Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information

? Good communication skills and confidence working with external agencies

Desirable

? Experience in education, childcare, outdoor activities, or youth services

? Safeguarding training (Level 2 or above)

? Experience maintaining compliance systems or HR software
