Aalberts hydronic flow control, part of the global Aalberts group, is seeking an experienced and proactive

HR Consultant

to provide operational and administrative HR support at our St Helens site.

This is a self-employed consultancy role, reporting to the International HR Manager, supporting as a HR Advisor, and helping to ensure HR compliance, efficiency, and best practice in line with

ACAS standards

.

Key Responsibilities



Support and advise Line Managers & Senior Managers with day-to-day HR operations and administration. Train, coach, and guide line managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practice. Drive HR compliance across the site, ensuring alignment with company policies and UK employment law. Recommend and implement HR process improvements and cost-saving methods. Support HR reporting and contribute to international HR initiatives. Act as a trusted partner to managers, ensuring consistent application of policies and fair employee treatment.

Requirements



Proven experience in HR operations, compliance, and line manager support. Strong knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS guidance. Ability to coach and influence managers at all levels. Highly organised, with attention to detail and a proactive approach. Comfortable working independently and as a trusted consultant. Self-employed status, responsible for managing own tax, NI, pensions, and statutory obligations.

Consultancy Terms



Self-employed / Independent Contractor -

outside IR35

. Consultant is solely responsible for all tax, NI, and statutory contributions. Payment: on receipt of invoice,

30-day terms
