About this Role



Cambrian Learning Trust are seeking a suitably experienced HR Director to provide strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of HR across the Trust, continuing our vision "to be a Beacon of Excellence."



Ideally holding a Level 7 CIPD qualification, our preference is for a candidate with education sector experience and extensive knowledge spanning the national conditions of service for Teachers and Local Government Service.

This is an exciting time to join Cambrian Learning Trust in this pivotal role, as we move forward with developing our Trust HR strategy, identifying our HR priorities to support the Trust's aim, and embedding best practice across our people teams.

As an 18 school Trustour academies are situated within a few miles of each other in and around Faringdon, Wantage and Abingdon. We employ circa 1200 members of staff, making us the largest employer in the area.
As Director of HR, you will be expected to:

Contribute to the strategic leadership and management of the Trust

Advise the CEO, COO, Trustees, Governors, Senior Leaders, Head Teachers, and Line Managers to ensure compliance with employment law, and other statutory requirements in relation to HR and Payroll.

Provide strategy, information and guidance on matters of HR policy, employment legislation, payroll legislation, governance, employee relations, reward and development.

Work with Trade Unions, professional associations and other employee representatives, including consulting and negotiating on HR policy and procedures, Trust growth, TUPE, organisational change, terms and conditions of employment and other employment related matters within a unionised environment.

Lead and develop the HR and Payroll Teams, overseeing and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees and the provision of professional HR and employment law support, advice and guidance.
