HR & Learning and Development Director - Luxury Hospitality

We're seeking an experienced and strategic
HR & Learning and Development Director
to lead people strategy, culture, and capability across a new luxury hospitality concept.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the HR function from the ground up -- creating a culture that empowers, develops, and inspires excellence at every level. You'll design and implement training programs, build leadership capability, and ensure the business attracts, supports, and retains the very best talent in hospitality.
About the Role
As HR & L&D Director, you'll be responsible for creating and delivering a comprehensive learning and development strategy that aligns with the business's vision and goals. Working closely with senior leadership and department heads, you'll design impactful training programs, introduce innovative learning tools, and ensure every team member has the support to thrive personally and professionally.
You'll lead on HR initiatives, drive employee engagement, and ensure compliance with all HR standards while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a dynamic HR and L&D strategy aligned with the company's goals and culture.
Design and deliver innovative training and leadership development programs.
Partner with department heads to identify learning needs and create impactful solutions.
Evaluate training outcomes and refine programs for continuous improvement.
Lead employee engagement, talent management, and performance review processes.
Ensure compliance with employment law, policies, and best practice.
Manage the HR Assistant and oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies.
Provide regular reporting on people development and key performance indicators.
About You
5+ years of senior HR or L&D experience, ideally within
hospitality or luxury environments
.
Proven success designing and implementing effective people and training strategies.
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
Deep understanding of modern learning methodologies and HR best practices.
Highly organised, analytical, and passionate about developing others.
Degree in HR, Business, or Organisational Development (CIPD or equivalent desirable).
