We're a growing technical consultancy based in Yate, seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join us as our sole internal HR professional. About the job



The position is part-time, requiring 22.5 hours per week. Working hours can be arranged flexibly, either across three full days or as shorter shifts of 4-5 hours per day, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking flexibility.

What you'll be doing



HR Operations & Administration



Act as the primary HR contact for employees and managers. Maintain accurate HR records, employee files, and HRIS data. Prepare and process HR documentation (contracts, changes to terms, onboarding materials). Liaise with external HR advisors for specialist guidance.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition



Manage end-to-end recruitment across technical, project, and business roles. Oversee candidate sourcing, screening, interview scheduling, and feedback. Support employer branding and recruitment analytics.

Onboarding & Offboarding



Own and improve the onboarding process to ensure smooth integration. Conduct HR orientations and coordinate equipment, systems access, and training. Manage offboarding, exit interviews, and documentation.

Employee Experience & Engagement



Be a trusted advisor and first point of contact for HR queries. Support engagement initiatives, morale-building activities, and internal communications. Assist managers in applying HR policies consistently. Help plan company events, meetings, and recognition programs.

Learning & Development



Coordinate training programs and maintain skills matrices. Support career pathing, performance discussions, and development plans.

Performance & Employee Relations



Provide guidance on day-to-day performance management and employee relations. Escalate complex issues to external HR support and partner on solutions. Assist with documentation for investigations, disciplinary meetings, or grievances.

HR Compliance & Policy



Maintain and update HR policies and employee handbook. Ensure compliance with employment legislation and statutory requirements. Coordinate with external HR support on audits or policy changes.

Payroll & Benefits Coordination



Liaise with finance/payroll providers to ensure accurate monthly payroll. Support benefit enrolment, renewals, and vendor communications. Advise employees on benefits and leave entitlements.

Culture & Organisational Development



Promote a positive, inclusive culture aligned with company values. Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Assist leadership with organisational planning and change management.

About you



Proven experience as an HR Generalist or similar role. Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage a broad HR remit. A proactive, people-focused approach with a passion for building great employee experiences.
