The Role
As a
HR Generalist
, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our workforce and partnering with managers to deliver effective HR solutions. This is a varied and hands-on position where you'll combine operational excellence with strategic input to drive engagement, compliance, and organisational growth.
What You'll Be Doing
Collaborate with operational managers
to align HR strategies with business and production goals.
Provide expert guidance on employee relations
, handling everything from day-to-day queries to more complex cases such as grievances, disciplinaries, absence, and performance management.
Support workforce planning
to ensure the right staffing levels for production demands.
Lead recruitment for operational roles
, managing the full process from advertising to onboarding and induction, while ensuring a great candidate experience. Oversee probation reviews and work closely with managers.
Maintain accurate HR records
and keep systems up to date.
Assist with performance reviews
and help managers with documentation and processes.
Review and update HR policies annually
, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.
Ensure compliance
with UK employment law and company standards at all times.
Produce HR reports and analytics
to support informed business decisions.
Monitor trends
in turnover, absence, and engagement, recommending practical solutions.
Support succession planning and talent development
initiatives.
Promote health, safety, and wellbeing
across the workforce.
Support the coordination of our training programs
to enhance skills and compliance.
Assist with payroll processing
when required, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.
Drive continuous improvement
in HR services by proactively supporting the HR Manager and contributing to wider HR projects.
Champion food safety culture
by promoting processes that protect product quality and legality.
Step up in the absence of the HR Manager
, attending management meetings, preparing reports, and providing site support.
Take on additional duties as needed
to support the smooth running of the business.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.
Significant HR advisory and generalist experience.
Proven ability to manage complex ER cases and support organisational change.
Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
Experience in manufacturing or food production.
Mental Health First Aider qualification.
