We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented

HR & Learning and Development Officer

to support the continued growth of Galgorm Collection. This

new

hybrid role combines core Human Resources functions with the design, delivery, and evaluation of impactful training and development programs aligned to our brand values and operational objectives.





As a key member of the HR team, the HR & Learning and Development Officer will play an integral role in supporting day-to-day HR operations: ensuring compliance with employment legislation, maintaining accurate HR records, and employee relations while also championing a culture of learning and continuous improvement.


The HR & Learning and Development Officer will collaborate closely with Heads of Departments to identify training needs, deliver engaging learning initiatives, and contribute to workforce engagement, talent development and succession planning.





Human Resources



Maintain up-to-date employee records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations. Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Support employee relations processes, including absence management, investigations, disciplinaries, and grievances. Promote a positive work culture aligned with Galgorm's values and team vision. Ensure full compliance with employee documentation requirements, including employment contracts, right-to-work checks, and accurate HR records. Liaise with key departments such as Payroll and Health & Safety to proactively address HR-related issues and support smooth operational workflows. Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and employee well-being in all HR initiatives. Provide informed, practical advice and coaching to managers on HR policies including absence management, performance development, and employee relations. Oversee the employee life cycle, ensuring each stage reflects the company's values and culture. Prepare and submit statutory reports, including those required by the Equality Commission, in a timely manner. Take responsibility for daily HR operations in the absence of the HR Manager.




Learning & Development





Develop and deliver engaging and effective training content that aligns with business needs Work with department managers to assess training needs and support departmental training plans. Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records and ensure all mandatory training is completed and tracked in line with internal policies and legal requirements. Promote a learning culture that supports continuous development, inclusion, and high performance. Support career progression and succession planning through targeted learning pathways and development plans. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS).


Additional Responsibilities:



Attend internal and external training programs as required. Undertake additional tasks or projects as requested by senior management.


Person Specification



Essential:



Strong and current knowledge of Northern Ireland employment legislation. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to facilitate engaging training sessions and workshops. Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems. Experience working with LMS or e-learning platforms. Proven experience in advising and supporting managers on HR matters. Ability to work independently with a commercial and solutions-focused mindset Capable of building trust-based relationships across all levels of the organisation. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Demonstrates attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism Holds a valid driver's license and access to own vehicle.


Desirable

:


CIPD Level 3 or above (or working towards) in HR or L&D. Familiarity with luxury hospitality standards and training practices Proven experience in a similar role, ideally in hospitality or a service-led environment.
