We are seeking a hands-on HR Manager to support the delivery of a high-performing HR function across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. You will lead and support a team of HR Business Partners and HR Administrators, ensuring consistent standards, strong employee relations, efficient processes, and HR systems compliance.
This is an ideal role for someone with solid operational HR experience, has people management experience and wants to make a tangible impact.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Line manage HR Business Partners (NI & ROI) and HR Administrators.
Provide coaching, guidance, and support to the team.
Allocate workload and ensure consistency of HR practice across regions.
Employee Relations
Act as the escalation point for complex ER cases.
Ensure fair and legally compliant handling of investigations, grievances, disciplinaries and performance issues.
Support managers with practical, solutions-focused HR advice.
HR Operations & Systems
Oversee HR processes and HRIS data accuracy.
Drive improvements in HR systems, reporting and automation.
Monitor compliance with legislation and internal policies across NI & ROI.
Audit & Compliance
Lead HR audits (files, contracts, right-to-work, vetting etc.).
Ensure HR documentation, SOPs and policies are up to date.
Support preparation for internal/external audits and regulatory requirements.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
Support delivery of HR initiatives (performance, wellbeing, retention, engagement, etc.)
Identify opportunities to streamline processes.
Work closely with the HR Director on strategic priorities.
What We're Looking For:
Qualifications
Essential:
Bachelors Degree in a relevant discipline (HRM, Business or related field) or;
CIPD qualification at Level 5 or above
Desirable:
Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline
CIPD Level 7 or equivalent
Experience
Essential:
Minimum 5 years' HR generalist experience across the full employee lifecycle
Strong Employee Relations experience, including complex cases
People management experience, able to demonstrate line management responsibility for HR staff
Working knowledge of employment law in NI and ROI
Experience working with HR systems and producing reports/metrics
Experience in HR compliance, policy implementation and/or auditing
Ability to balance hands-on operational work with leading and supporting a team
Desirable:
Experience working in the health and social care sector
Experience supporting multiple sites or regions
Experience delivering process improvements or HR projects
