We are looking to recruit an experienced HR Manager to join our supportive and collaborative HR & Payroll team. You will report to the Head of HR, Culture and Transformation and provide guidance and support to line managers across the full employee lifecycle. This is an exciting time to join the team to support the implementation of a new integrated HR and Payroll System and help us to drive continuous improvements and excellence in service delivery.
Main duties include
Oversight of our in-house Payroll and Pensions team, to support completion of monthly salaried payroll and monthly pay claims from Visiting Professionals and Casual staff (circa 450 staff).
To support the team with monthly/yearly payroll and pension reconciliations, pension regulations and statutory deadlines.
Ensure accurate processing of statutory payments including SSP, SMP, PAYE and NIC.
To support recruitment, onboarding and inductions.
To oversee HR administration including offer letters, contracts and changes in terms and conditions.
To advise managers and staff about policies, procedures and processes, and update as required.
To support HR processes including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence management as required.
To contribute to projects such as the implementation of the new HRIS.
Prepare HR and Payroll KPI reports (absenteeism, overtime, employee turnover etc)
The ideal candidate will be qualified to at least CIPD Level 5 and will have proven experience in HR and payroll management, as we process payroll and pensions inhouse. Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail in data entry tasks, and the ability to manage multiple priorities is essential. You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels, and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally is essential.
This role would suit someone with who would like to increase their payroll and pension experience as we transition to a new HR and in-house payroll system. Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft packages is essential. Experience of working in education and processing teachers' pensions would be advantageous but is not essential as training can be provided. This is a full time, office-based position to commence as soon as possible. Some hybrid working is available.
