We are a dynamic and fast-growing hospitality group operating a portfolio of restaurant and takeaway brands across London. As we enter a key growth phase, we are seeking a hands-on HR Manager to lead our HR function and oversee payroll across multiple sites. This is a rare opportunity to shape the people operations of a multi-brand business and make a lasting impact as we continue to expand.

Role Summary -

The HR Manager will be responsible for the full HR and payroll cycle -- from recruitment and onboarding to compliance, culture-building, and accurate payroll delivery. You will work closely with store managers and the leadership team to embed scalable HR systems that ensure consistency, compliance, and an excellent employee experience across all locations.

Key Responsibilities



Payroll Management

o Manage end-to-end payroll processing for weekly and monthly-paid staff across all sites. o Ensure compliance with HMRC, pensions auto-enrolment, and statutory reporting. o Process joiners, leavers, pay changes, and deductions accurately. o Maintain payroll records and handle employee queries regarding pay. o Partner with Finance to reconcile payroll and provide HR/payroll reports.

Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding

o Lead recruitment for store-level and HQ positions in line with our expansion plans. o Build and manage sourcing channels (job boards, agencies, social media, referrals). o Enhance employer branding to attract and retain top talent.

HR Operations & Compliance

o Develop and maintain HR systems and employee records. o Ensure compliance with UK employment law, right-to-work checks, and GDPR. o Design and deliver onboarding and offboarding processes aligned with company values. o Support managers with employee relations, absence, and disciplinary matters.

People & Culture

o Define and embed company values consistently across all sites. o Design and deliver employee engagement initiatives (recognition programmes, surveys, wellbeing support). o Develop manager toolkits and training to improve leadership capability. o Foster diversity, equity, and inclusion across the workforce.

HR Strategy & Growth

o Build scalable HR and payroll infrastructure to support multi-site expansion. o Partner with leadership on organisation design, workforce planning, and succession. o Implement performance management frameworks to drive accountability and development. o Provide insights through HR/payroll reporting to support business decisions.

What We're Looking For

o 3-5+ years' HR experience (hospitality, retail, or multi-site environment preferred). o Proven experience in managing payroll end-to-end. o Strong knowledge of UK employment law, payroll regulations, and HR best practice. o Excellent organisational skills with the ability to balance strategic and operational tasks. o Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all levels.

Nice to Have

o CIPD qualification o Experience building HR and payroll functions in a scaling business. o Knowledge of hospitality payroll systems (e.g. Fourth, Sage). o Interest in food, culture, and people development.

Position Details

o Type: Full-time, permanent o Location: 100% office based in NW London (with flexibility to visit stores as required) o Starting Salary: from 55,000 per year, depending on experience. o Start Date: ASAP
