Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR professional to lead and support a broad range of HR functions. You will be responsible for managing employee relations, coaching leaders, ensuring immigration compliance (including sponsorship), reviewing and implementing policies, supporting recruitment, liaising closely with our care homes & other businesses within the Group, and reporting on HR-related risks to the board.
The ideal candidate will be highly adaptable, able to work independently, and confident in making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide coaching and guidance to managers on leadership, performance, and team development.
Oversee day-to-day HR operations including ER case management, absence management, and compliance.
Manage immigration processes including sponsorship and right-to-work checks.
Ensure HR policies are up-to-date, legally compliant, and aligned with company culture.
Liaise regularly with care home managers to understand workforce needs and provide HR support.
Support HR systems and data reporting as needed.
Collaborate with managers to define role requirements and recruitment strategies.
Oversee recruitment processes, including interviews, offers, and onboarding of senior management.
Ensure a smooth and compliant onboarding experience for new hires, including international staff.
Lead policy reviews and updates in line with employment law and best practice.
Ensure compliance with UKVI sponsorship duties and other regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate documentation and audit readiness for immigration and ER cases.
Prepare and present regular reports to the board on HR-related risks, including workforce trends, ER issues, compliance gaps, and strategic workforce risks.
Monitor staff absences across the Group, identify patterns or concerns, and advise managers on appropriate actions and support strategies.
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years' experience in a HR Manager or HR Business Partner role.
Minimum 2 years' experience managing immigration processes, including sponsorship and compliance.
Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
Experience in recruitment, particularly in regulated or care environments, is highly desirable.
Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
Ability to manage complex ER cases with sensitivity and professionalism.
Experience in policy development and implementation.
Experience preparing and delivering reports to senior leadership or board level.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and adapt to changing priorities.
CIPD qualified or equivalent experience preferred.
Valid driving license and access to vehicle as you will need to travel to sites occasionally (pool car may be avaliable)

This position is subject to proven eligibility to work in the UK and a satisfactory enhanced DBS in the event of a successful application.
