About the Role



The HR Manager is responsible for developing and sustaining the people, culture and compliance infrastructure necessary for safe clinical and operational delivery. Working within a regulated healthcare environment, this role ensures that Anna has a resilient, values-led workforce supported by robust systems across recruitment, engagement, wellbeing, governance, performance and capability.

The HR Manager partners closely with the CEO, RM (Head of Clinical Governance), Patient Support Manager and senior leadership to build culture, reduce turnover, manage absence, embed behavioural expectations and uphold compliance standards aligned to CQC requirements.

Key Responsibilities:



People Culture & Engagement



Design and embed a values-led culture that supports patient safety, operational excellence and clinical governance.

Lead the staff engagement framework, including surveys, pulse checks, recognition programmes and internal communication.

Develop wellbeing initiatives and support mental resilience within a high-demand environment.

Champion DEI across policy, recruitment, behaviour expectations and culture.

Workforce Stability, Retention & Absence



Monitor, report and manage absence trends; ensure timely interventions.

Develop retention strategies that address early warning indicators of turnover.

Conduct exit reviews and present insights to reduce preventable attrition.

Support managers with return-to-work processes, reasonable adjustments, and wellbeing plans.

Employee Relations & Governance



Lead ER casework including performance, capability, conduct, grievance and sickness.

Maintain and update all HR policies; ensure alignment to employment law and CQC standards.

Oversee DBS, Right to Work, professional registration compliance and clinical onboarding documentation.

Provide guidance to managers on resolving issues early, fairly and consistently.

Recruitment & Onboarding



Lead recruitment for clinical and non-clinical roles including sourcing, interviewing, selection and onboarding.

Ensure onboarding reinforces compliance, culture and performance expectations.

Build talent pipelines for future workforce planning.

Performance & Capability



Design and manage the performance cycle including objectives, reviews and capability processes.

Provide coaching and guidance to managers on handling underperformance.

Support development planning and ensure staff have access to growth opportunities.

People Systems & Reporting



Own SenseHR workflows, compliance tasks and data accuracy.

Produce monthly people analytics including turnover, absence, ER patterns and training compliance.

Processing payroll accurately and on time.

Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are understood and escalated appropriately.

Person Specification



Education & Training:



CIPD Level 5 (minimum) or equivalent experience.

Experience (Essential):



HR leadership in a regulated or healthcare environment.

Proven ER case management experience.

Experience embedding culture and engagement initiatives.

Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and documentation.

Proven experience with payroll and pension systems (specifically, Xero & Peoples Pension)

Experience (Desirable):



Start-up or scale-up environment.

Coaching or leadership development training.

Skills & Attributes:

Able to work independently and at pace.

Confident communicator with the ability to influence.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 40,000.00-45,000.00 per year
