This is a hybrid role ideal for an experienced HR professional or an enthusiastic new entrant looking to grow in the while shaping our HR processes from the ground up.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and people-focused Senior HR Manager to join our small, creative team on a part-time basis. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to shape and lead the company's HR function from the ground up, supporting both compliance and culture.
The successful candidate will oversee core HR operations, ensure legal and immigration compliance, and play a central role in promoting a positive and inclusive working environment.
You will support recruitment, manage HR systems, and help staff navigate workplace concerns with empathy and professionalism. Whether you're an experienced HR professional or looking to grow into a leadership role, we welcome your passion for people and process.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior HR Manager, you will play a key role in building and maintaining effective HR operations across the company. Your responsibilities will include:
HR Operations:
Maintain and update employee records, contracts, and personnel documentation
Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes for all staff
Support the implementation and improvement of internal HR policies and procedures
Compliance & Right to Work
Conduct and document Right to Work checks in accordance with Home Office guidance
Assist with maintaining visa and sponsorship-related records for any sponsored employees
Support audit readiness and ensure ongoing compliance with UKVI sponsor duties
Payroll Support
Prepare and manage payroll data for monthly processing, ensuring compliance with PAYE and statutory obligations
Coordinate with accountants or payroll providers to ensure timely salary payments
Track working hours, holiday entitlements, and absences accurately
Recruitment & Hiring Support
Assist in drafting job descriptions and publishing open roles
Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communication
Ensure fair and inclusive hiring practices in line with employment law
Employee Relations
Act as a point of contact for HR-related queries from staff
Support regular performance review processes
Offer first-line emotional and pastoral support to employees where appropriate
Promote an inclusive, respectful and discrimination-free workplace
Help manage concerns relating to wellbeing, workplace culture or interpersonal dynamics sensitively and confidentially
Support the implementation of any Dignity at Work or Anti-Bullying policies
HR Systems Management
Manage the company's HR software and digital records
Ensure confidentiality and data protection in all HR processes
Produce HR reports when needed to support business operations
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational and Experience
Formal qualification in HR, business administration or related field is preferred but not essential
Prior experience in an HR, admin, or compliance role is desirable, but we also welcome entry-level candidates with the right mindset
Familiarity with UK employment law or sponsorship compliance is a plus (training will be provided)
Skills & Competencies
:
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities with accuracy and discretion
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to handle sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism
Understanding of diversity, inclusion, and employee wellbeing principles
Comfortable using digital tools such as HR platforms, Google Workspace, or Excel
A collaborative team player who can also work independently
Willingness to learn and grow within a flexible and supportive environment.
