We are now seeking an
HR Manager
to strengthen our people operations, ensuring compliance, payroll accuracy, and workforce engagement, while driving innovation through HR technology.
Role Purpose
The HR Manager will provide hands-on leadership across all HR functions, supporting the HR Director with both operational delivery and strategic projects. The role manages payroll, HR administration, and employee relations, with direct responsibility for an HR Administrator. A key part of the role is identifying and implementing tech-led process improvements to make HR more efficient, data-driven, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & HR Administration
Lead monthly payroll processing in partnership with Finance.
Ensure accurate handling of starters, leavers, pensions, overtime, and deductions.
Manage and mentor the HR Administrator, ensuring high standards in all HR admin tasks.
Employee Relations & Compliance
Oversee disciplinary, grievance, and investigation processes.
Advise line managers on policy application and UK employment law.
Ensure compliance across contracts, right-to-work, and GDPR obligations.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Manage recruitment campaigns and selection processes.
Ensure smooth onboarding, induction, and probation reviews.
Collaborate with managers to build talent pipelines.
Performance & Development
Support appraisals, development plans, and training programmes.
Track training compliance via systems such as TalentLMS.
Develop dashboards for HR KPIs (absence, turnover, performance, training).
Engagement & Culture
Deliver initiatives to improve engagement, wellbeing, and retention.
Embed company values of urgency, accountability, and empowerment.
Lead employee feedback processes and action planning.
Technology & Process Innovation
Champion digital HR solutions to streamline processes (automation, dashboards, HRIS).
Drive adoption of systems that improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Identify opportunities for integration between HR and wider operational tech platforms.
Strategic HR Support
Provide analysis and reports to the HR Director and senior leadership team.
Contribute to workforce planning, organisational design, and succession planning.
Deliver HR projects aligned with Group growth objectives.
Person Specification
Essential
CIPD Level 5 qualified (minimum).
Strong HR generalist background, ideally in a manager or senior advisor role.
Proven payroll management experience.
Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
Experience managing a direct report.
Ability to work in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
Confident communicator with strong organisational skills.
Desirable
CIPD Level 7 or working towards.
Experience in facilities management, construction, or service sectors.
Track record of implementing HR technology or process automation.
Familiarity with HR dashboards, reporting tools, or integrated systems.
