Hours of Work



40 hours per week on average



Monday - Friday (core) with flexibility based on business needs



Role Definition



Reporting to the site HR Manager, the HR Officer is responsible for supporting the HRM in developing a culture of trust, people development and employee wellbeing, whilst coaching Managers to build their own management capability in line with company processes, legal compliance and best ethical practice.



Key Responsibilities



Induction, and post-start date onboarding, of new starters, working with the Welfare and Training Officer to ensure that both Modern Slavery Worker Interview templates are completed as per ABP UK's Modern Slavery statement



Day 1, 2 and 3 Onboarding checks, following up with relevant Managers on issues that arise



ABP Langport's Probation Review process plus associated admin and actions, including end of probation letters



Updating Success Factors, Payroll and Central Payroll with new starters and leaver records and management of the holiday system



Reward and recognition initiatives on site, including Employee of the Month, the Loyalty Scheme and supporting with the Annual Awards event



Coordinating with Payroll on wages queries



Provide timely advice and support to Line Managers on all HR related issues. Includes guidance and paperwork relating to, but not limited to, the following: Disciplinary, Grievance, Appeals, Flexible Working Applications, Performance Management, Welfare issues, Maternity and Paternity requests



Daily Management of Short-term and Long-term absence, with appropriate welfare meetings, investigations, disciplinaries and the AWOL process. Working alongside departmental managers, H&S and Occupational Health.



To support with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) events and social/charity events on site



Assist with the implementation of HR and L&D Strategies on site



Fully adopt a 'continuous improvement' way of working



Data reporting to departments as and when required



Attending JTMs and the weekly HR call in the HRM's absence



Any other reasonable task requested by the HRM



Take ownership of own Continuous Professional Development



Qualifications & Experience



The ideal candidate would have experience of working in a fast paced, busy environment in a similar role



Great interpersonal skills, integrity and an approachable attitude



Ability to communicate and build working relationships across all levels



Ability to influence and provide an ethical, evidence-based perspective to decision making, meeting the needs of the employee and the business



Excellent written and spoken communication skills



Able to maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy



Self-motivated, methodical and well organised



Knowledge of general IT systems including Microsoft Office



Ability to prioritise workload, time management skills



Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and sensitivity



Flexibility and willingness to learn



Team work to achieve business goals
