We are looking for an experienced
HR & Payroll Manager
to cover maternity leave on a fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Manager to take on a fast-paced and multifaceted role, covering Employee Relations matters, Recruitment, Payroll and managing a team of 1-3 Administrators. You will be required to collaborate across departments to deliver seamless, people-focused services.

Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop the entire HR and Payroll function, ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies.
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
Create, update, and communicate the Company Handbook and HR/Payroll policies
Manage HR strategies, KPIs, appraisals, absence reporting, return-to-work, and other HR matters.
Maintain HR trackers, spreadsheets, and a Payroll/HR calendar.
Liaise with external HR or Payroll service providers and manage contracts.
Organise staff training, development, events, and team-building activities.
Ensure GDPR compliance for all HR records and processes.
Support the Board with HR-related advice, salary reviews, and bonus implementation.
Promote equality, diversity, and a positive company culture across the business.
Candidate Requirements
CIPD Level 5 (or above) or relevant honours degree.
Minimum 3 years' experience in an HR Manager role.
Broad knowledge of Employment Law, Payroll, and Workplace pensions.
Proficiency in HR systems, Google Docs/Sheets, and Sage 50 for payroll management.
Excellent communication skills with all levels of staff.
Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work efficiently remotely with a quiet, secure home office and reliable internet.
Flexibility to attend face-to-face, video, or voice meetings when required.
What We Offer
Competitive salary: 40,000 - 45,000 per annum.
