We are seeking to appoint a skilled, organised and professional
HR and Personnel Assistant
to join the strong and supportive staff team . This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in HR or personnel administration to make a significant contribution to the smooth, effective running of our school.
The HR and Personnel Assistant will work closely with the Headteacher, Operations Manager, and our external HR provider to ensure the school meets all statutory and policy obligations. This includes managing our recruitment processes, maintaining accurate personnel records, supporting absence management procedures, ensuring Safer Recruitment and DBS compliance, acting as the school's internal point of contact for Data Protection, and providing high-quality support and advice to staff across the school.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and administering all aspects of HR and personnel work, including:
Managing the end-to-end recruitment process, from advert preparation to onboarding
Maintaining the Single Central Record and ensuring Safer Recruitment compliance
Supporting managers with absence monitoring, meetings and documentation
Drafting employment contracts and maintaining up-to-date personnel files
Providing HR reports and data analysis as required
Offering first-line HR guidance to staff, referring to external HR support when required

Experience:
Has experience in HR or personnel administration, understands Safer Recruitment principles, and is familiar with confidential data handling or HR processes.
Skills:
Excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, effective IT skills (including spreadsheets and databases), ability to prioritise work, and confidence communicating with a wide range of people.
Attributes:
