We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic HR Professional Apprentice to join our team, working closely with the Deputy HR Director to support learning and development (L&D) initiatives across the group. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth coordination and administration of all L&D activities and projects.

As part of your responsibilities, you will contribute to the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of learning and development systems and processes, helping us deliver a high-quality, efficient service. You will play an essential role in the day-to-day management of training sessions and external learning opportunities, including supporting our newly launched Learning Management System (LMS).



Key responsibilities include:Coordinating and administering corporate induction programmes Managing training logistics and record-keeping Processing staff development requests and approvals Supporting appraisal processes and reporting Assisting with the provision of management information and budget tracking Contributing to a variety of L&D and wider HR projects as needed

As part of this role, you will be enrolled in a Level 5 People Professional Apprenticeship, equipping you with the knowledge and tools to thrive in your HR career.

Key Responsibilities





Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities





1.Maintain Accurate L&D Records and Processes



Develop and maintain clear, accessible, and up-to-date records for all learning and development activities. This includes processing staff development approvals, tracking attendance, and liaising with line managers and participants to ensure timely booking of training events



2.Coordinate Training Administration and Budget Tracking



Work closely with the Deputy HR Director to design and implement efficient administrative procedures for booking in-house and external training. This includes raising requisition orders, tracking payments, and ensuring all activity aligns with budgetary constraints and financial regulations



3. Monitor and Evaluate Learning Activities



Ensure the collection and review of evaluation forms for all development events. Support the identification of organisational training needs through training needs analysis (TNA), annual appraisals, and feedback from staff and managers.

4. Provide Guidance on Training Policies and Procedures


Act as a first point of contact for queries relating to training policies and procedures, offering clear, informed guidance and resolving issues as needed.

5. Manage the Annual Training Plan


Oversee the delivery of the organisation's annual training schedule, including mandatory training and termly staff development days. Ensure activities are completed within agreed timelines and provide regular compliance updates to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).



6.Conduct Training Provider Research


Proactively research and identify suitable external training providers and opportunities that align with organisational needs and support people and organisational development initiatives.

7.Support Appraisal Reporting



Assist with monitoring the completion of annual staff appraisals, ensuring documentation is returned and logged accurately and on time. Collaborate with the wider People Services team to generate reports and track progress.



8.Manage the College Learning Management System


Monitoring system updates, managing course enrolments, troubleshooting issues, and producing data reports to inform current service delivery and future planning.



9.Build and Maintain Provider Relationships


Develop and sustain positive working relationships with external learning and development providers to support effective programme delivery and ongoing collaboration.

10.Coordinate Staff Development and Induction Events


In partnership with the Deputy HR Director and , plan and deliver organisation-wide development days and regular induction sessions. Continuously review and refresh content based on feedback and evolving organisational priorities.

11.Support with employee relations matters


Support the HR Busioness Partners and Advisors with employee relations issues as required.

2. Support HR Projects and L&D Communications


Contribute to wider HR initiatives and ensure that all learning and development information--particularly on the intranet--is accurate, current, and regularly reviewed.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise



Essential Criteria


GCSE in English and Maths or relevant experience

Excellent communication skills, relationship management and influencing skills, ability to work well as part of a team

Excellent computer literacy - ability to use all Microsoft packages and internet based platforms

A least one year's experience of working in an office environment

Experience of working with multiple stakeholders or as part of a team in a busy, fast-paced environment

Innovative and creative with the ability to problem solve

Resilient with the ability to cope with pressure and prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines

Understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion as it applies to this role

Committed to their own personal development

Desirable Criteria


Ability to work independently to a high standard, taking accountability and ownership for mistakes and a commitment to self-reflection and learning

Ability to manage to tight deadlines and multiple priorities

Fluent speaking in any of the mentioned languages: Arabic, Persian, Kurmanji (Northern Kurdish), Sorani (Central Kurdish), Portuguese, Spanish, Tigrinya, Vietnamese, French
