As our business continues to expand, we're looking for an
HR & Recruitment Advisor
to join our close-knit team. This is a key role where you'll help shape our team culture, support employee wellbeing, and find great people who share our values. You'll also support the day-to-day running of our office and assist with business projects as needed.
About the Role
We're not a corporate office; we're a team that rolls up our sleeves and supports one another. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and thrives in a collaborative, people-focused environment.
You'll be responsible for leading HR and recruitment efforts across the business, while also helping with general office admin and ad-hoc projects - one of these projects will be leading on the implementation of an online HR platform and review of existing processes to create a more efficient and scalable HR function.
Your Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent
Manage the full recruitment process from job posting to onboarding
Attract candidates via job boards, agencies, and networking
Build relationships with potential candidates and keep talent pipelines warm
Coordinate background checks and clearances when required
Represent the business at job fairs and local events
HR Operations & Strategy
Advise and support directors with people strategy and planning
Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures
Create onboarding and training programmes to help new starters succeed
Keep employee records up to date and generate useful HR reports
Work with schools, colleges, or local partners to promote our business
Employee Relations & Culture
Be a go-to support for employees and managers on all HR matters
Handle employee relations such as absence management, return-to-work interviews, or performance discussions
Promote a positive, healthy, and respectful working environment
Conduct exit interviews and help us learn from feedback
Compliance & Admin
Ensure we're up to date and compliant with UK employment laws
Keep personnel files, contracts, and documentation organised
Support with payroll tasks (experience a bonus, not essential)
Manage holiday and leave schedules
Help with wider business admin and occasional office duties

Who We're Looking For
Solid experience in HR and full-cycle recruitment
Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices
A friendly, down-to-earth communicator who can work with everyone, from gardeners, landscapers, administrators and directors
Well-organised, reliable, and able to manage their own workload
CIPD qualified (or working towards it)
Previous experience implementing a HRIS
