We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of HR Specialists at the 100 Force Support Squadron, Royal Air Force (RAF) Mildenhall, United Kingdom.
What will be your primary role?
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Human Resources (HR) Specialist for Employee Relations in a developmental capacity, performing assignments designed to further develop applicable analytical and evaluative skills and techniques. The incumbent of this position will provide consultation, guidance, and assistance to management on conduct-related issues advising on the procedural and legal requirements for correcting conduct and administering disciplinary and adverse actions. They will analyze each situation and conduct research of the case facts, laws and regulations and participate in special assignments, preparing written correspondence and other documentation. The position will be developmental to the target grade of S-11. All training must be completed and regulatory requirements met prior to promotion.

Also known as the "Bloody Hundredth" conducts air refueling and combat support operations throughout the European and African area of responsibility. Supports more than 8,300 military and civilian personnel, dependents, and retirees, to include U.S. Air Forces in Europe-United Kingdom, the 501st Combat Support Wing, 352nd Special Operations Wing, U.S. Army and five other partner units. Located at Royal Air Force Mildenhall in the United Kingdom, the 100 ARW is the only U.S. tanker wing assigned to Europe and Africa refueling U.S. and partner nation aircraft over a span of more than 20 million square miles employing the KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft. What are the Key Skills required for this role?
1. Knowledge of the fundamental principles, practices, and techniques of employee relations; standardized research techniques; and analytical and problem-solving methods required to advise on and resolve moderately complex, noncontroversial, well-precedented factual, procedural, and/or recurring issues; make informed judgments on problems and issues; and perform advisory services for problems of limited scope.
2. Skill in gathering, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from information, and communicating information clearly, both orally and in writing.
3. Ability to analyze specific phases of common, well-precedented, and/or recurring cases or situations and to develop and prepare clear explanations of facts.
4. Ability to select the appropriate basic, legal, and regulatory provisions applicable to each situation and locate appropriate and applicable precedents and legal documentation.
5. Ability to interpret and analyze basic issues of fact and law.
6. Ability to identify and analyze numerous facts and allegations to determine accuracy and applicability to the cases.
What are the conditions of employment for this role?
1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations.
2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential.
3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period
4. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
5. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
6. The Local National Direct Hire (LNDH) Program does not participate in regular drug testing, however positions covered by this document may be subject to drug testing upon reasonable suspicion of substance abuse, and safety mishap or accident testing.
7. Your hours of work will be 40 hours per week on a Fixed Schedule (Mon-Fri 0800-1630) where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization's flexible working policies.
