At TOMRA, safety and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for an experienced

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager

to take ownership of all HSE matters across TOMRA Collection UK operations--covering offices, warehouses, Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) sites, and partner locations.


This is a pivotal role ensuring compliance with UK legislation and TOMRA's Safe Management System (TSMS), while driving a proactive safety culture. You'll act as the primary source of HSE expertise, supporting the Managing Director and leading initiatives that protect our people, customers, and partners.

What You'll Do



Ensure Legal Compliance


Adhere to UK HSE legislation (e.g., Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, RIDDOR, COSHH, Fire Safety, Mental Health at Work Act 2025).

Maintain and Improve Policies


Update TOMRA's HSE policies and procedures to meet statutory and company requirements.

Risk Management


Develop, implement, and review risk assessments and safe systems of work across all operations.

Incident & Audit Oversight


Lead incident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions; manage internal/external audits and maintain documentation.

Training & Culture


Deliver engaging HSE training and promote a proactive safety culture using leading and lagging indicators.

Stakeholder Engagement


Act as the main contact for UK regulators, auditors, customers, and partners; provide HSE input in RFP/tender processes.

Digital & Emerging Risks


Support digital transformation of HSE systems; monitor emerging risks like automation, climate resilience, and mental health.

Emergency, Sustainability & Reporting


Lead emergency response planning, environmental compliance, wellbeing initiatives, contractor standards, and report on HSE KPIs and annual performance.

Qualifications

What You Bring



Proven experience in HSE management within multi-site operations. Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to lead initiatives and influence positive change. A collaborative approach with a passion for safety and sustainability.
