We're seeking a proactive and experienced
HSE Supervisor
to play a key role in driving health, safety, and environmental performance across our offshore operations. Acting as a member of the QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) team, the successful candidate will work closely and advise onshore and offshore management to ensure full understanding and implementation of the company's management system and compliance with internal and legal HSE requirements.
Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will mentor and support Offshore HSE Representatives across assigned assets, ensuring they are highly visible at worksites (80% site-based), effectively engaged with crews, and promoting a strong safety culture aligned with industry best practices.
You'll also collaborate with the HSE Manager and Quality Advisor on broader departmental initiatives and may support additional QHSE functions beyond vessel-specific responsibilities. As a senior figure within the QHSE function, you will act independently, escalate concerns, and help drive resolution of any compliance or operational issues.
The role includes regular travel: bi-weekly visits to the Bristol office to maintain close alignment with Project and Rig Managers, attendance at kick-off meetings, and quarterly onboard visits to your assigned vessels to maintain direct engagement with teams and reinforce expectations.
In the absence of the HSE Manager, you'll step in to provide leadership and continuity, supported by the Quality Advisor.
What you'll do:
Supervise, Support and guide the Offshore Leadership Team (Under his / her assigned Vessel (S)) driving HSE excellence.
Work with the Offshore HSE Representative to ensure best practice by identifying trends, HSE improvement opportunities and finding solutions / closing outstanding QHSE Actions with Offshore Team
Sharing of Trend information and regular communication with other HSE Supervisors to ensure lesson sharing, ideas are effective and uniform throughout the fleet.
Review any HSE related reports as they are received in detail, and identify any particular focus / trending areas working with HSE Rep to provide effective solutions and improvements.
File HSE daily, weekly, monthly reports as listed on project QHSE reporting matrix in the central SharePoint database (under his / her assigned Vessel.
Sourcing Industry alerts and sending to to highlight awareness sharing with other HSE Supervisors.
Monitor, promoting HSE Excellence working with Offshore Team (under his / her assigned Vessel) by change behaviours, mindset, culture and achieve HSE Excellence
Establish and maintain regular communications with HSE Representatives to understand any issues/concerns and receive any positive feedback
Provide assistance to MoC from a HSE prospective (under his / her assigned Vessel)
Take part and lead when necessary, in the Incident Investigate process ensuring a quality investigation has taken place before reports are submitted to PM for issue to Management. If requested be prepared to join the vessel for Investigation requirements.
Conduct safety training and HSE Coaching Offshore where required
Assist HSE Manager to facilitate, monitor and ensure the day-to-day implementation of Geoquip Marine IMS policies/processes/procedures relevant to legal and compliance management.
Act as a representative of the company HSE function and behave in a way which does not bring company HSE function or company reputation into disrepute
To set a positive example to subordinates demonstrating integrity and positive leadership expected of the position
Liaise closely with the HSE Manager to support the implementation of the HSE legal compliance in operations
Assist the HSE Manager in stewarding the direction and implementation of the Observation card system
Monitor and have active involvement Action Management registers / My Compliance reviews from (under his / her assigned Vessel and advising / driving responsible persons for timely close out of actions.
Participate and lead audits on management systems where required or requested
Assist the HSE Manager to compile HSE statistical information.
To protect the environment
Deal with Tender documentation as advised by HSE Manager in relation to HSE aspects
Any other duties deemed necessary, which are within the bounds of the incumbent's competence and function.
Who We're Looking For
:
Sufficient Offshore/Marine HSE Experience is essential
HSE experience related to Drilling would be highly beneficial
Experience of leading or participating in incident investigations and root cause analysis
NEBOSH Certificate or similar other training certificate
Good understanding and use of MS Office, specifically Word and Excel
Individuals to be involved in 2 offshore rotations per year (c. 60 days)
