Role description:



We are seeking an experienced and initiative-taking HSEQ Manager, with a strong background in engineering/special projects/heavy plant and equipment/construction, to support the senior UK HSEQ Manager and lead Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality functions for our Facade Access division located in Chelmsford,



This is a very hands-on role with an approximate split of 60/40 between general HSEQ management support, and operational HSEQ support for the Facade access team; ensuring that excellence and compliance is maintained for service and installation projects on customer sites, throughout the project lifecycles.


Key tasks & responsibilities:




Support the UK Snr HSEQ Manager and wider HSEQ team with maintenance and improvement of the ISO and other certified Integrated Business Management System. Monitoring and ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations, standards, and company policies. Identifying, assessing, and managing potential HSEQ risks associated with projects and general business activities. Investigating incidents and near misses, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective and correction actions. Delivering toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training project personnel, and communicating changes to HSEQ procedures. Conducting regular site visits to audit HSEQ compliance, assessing the effectiveness of HSEQ procedures, and identifying areas for improvement. Conducting regular business processes and compliance audits. Preparing and maintaining HSEQ documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, inspection reports, incident reports, monthly update reports for the division and Snr HSEQ Manager. Supporting the Snr HSEQ Manager with Facade Access division product warranty / quality issues. This involves working with our Spanish quality / engineering teams, and UK FA managers. Acting as a point of contact for clients and other stakeholders on HSEQ matters and collaborating with project teams and senior management.

Qualifications & Competencies:



To be successful in this role you will have:


Minimum 5 years' experience in HSEQ roles, particularly within the relevant industry (e.g., engineering, special projects, heavy plant & equipment) and a strong quality bias with a Professional understanding of ISO standards (9001,14001,45001) and management system requirements. Proven experience in HSEQ roles, particularly within the relevant industry (e.g., engineering, special projects, heavy plant & equipment) and a strong quality bias with a Professional understanding of ISO standards and management system requirements. Strong knowledge of HSEQ legislation, standards, and management systems. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and ISO 45001 Internal Auditor. Process development and mapping experience Project Management experience Problem solving & analytical skills. Strong presentation and report writing skills

Essential Qualifications




NEBOSH General Certificate or NVQ4/5 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Practice. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and ISO 45001 Internal Auditor.

Preferred




NEBOSH certificate with Construction, NEBOSH Diploma. ISO 45001 Lead Auditor. ISO 14001 Internal / Lead Auditor. Engineering qualifications (Technician, HNC, HND). CQI Certificate in Quality Management (or similar). Prince 2 (or similar)
