HSSE Manager

Based - Derby

Hours - 40hrs (Monday to Friday)

What this job involves:



As a member of the JLL WD IFM team, the HSSE Manager will be responsible for deploying and supporting the JLL WD health, safety and environmental risk management strategy. The role will be dedicated to managing HSSE matters on a client account. The main function will be to enable the account to comply with JLL, cultural, client and statutory requirements in its operations on client sites in UK. The HSSE manager should be available to travel within UK up to %30 of the time.



What your day-to-day will look like:



Implement JLL Global WD HSSE strategic objectives and bring them to life for a client account, ensuring effective operational relevance

Manage and reduce operational risks by providing guidance and advice on HSSE risk management at all levels

Identify, eliminate, and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage using safety standards, best management practices, and analytical techniques.

Provide technical advice on relevant HSSE issues and communicate notifications of changes in legislation that will impact service delivery and/or client occupancy

Ensure a continued working knowledge of relevant current legislation

Identify improvement opportunities and support the account team in identifying practical cost-effective solutions and controls for HSSE risks

Provide reporting and monitor performance against all JLL & client-set HSSE metrics and KPI's

Ensure site related risk assessments are in place in line with legal requirements and Client Global Risk Control Standards

Support the program for training, audit, measurement, and reporting HSSE performance against agreed standards

Manage incident and accident investigations

Foster a Culture of Safety across the Account

Support account teams in developing relationships with key internal and external HSSE stakeholders

Build a relationship with the client developing trust and demonstrating ownership and drive of innovation and change management.

Embed JLL WD HSSE requirements and meet client requirements and standards

Establish effective relationships and work co-operatively with the Account Teams, Client organizations, and 3rd party vendors

Ensure 3rd party vendors maintain compliance with JLL and Client HSSE Standards at all times

Ensure implementation and maintenance of JLL HSSE operational controls, (i.e., process, standards, procedures, and guidelines) ensuring compliance with HSSE obligations and JLL's HSSE aspirations.

Drive the development of best practice HSE training programs and resources.

Implement HSSE strategy and operating protocols for the safety performance of JLL's contractors and supply chain vendors.

Ensure successful delivery of HSSE regulatory responsibilities and best practices to secure regulatory compliance, including management of change related to new and revised legislation.



Qualifications:



Experience working with Health and Safety compliance and management systems preferably within facility operations. Safety experience in manufacturing or maintenance operations is highly desirable.

Strong understanding local Health, Safety and Environmental laws. Proficient in ISO 1400.1 and 4500.1 standards.

Proven history of implementation of environmental, health and safety management systems and processes.

Must be willing and able to travel internally as deemed necessary to fulfil the role

Internal or External Auditor Qualifications

Previous experience of Facilities Management or client-facing roles (e.g. consultancy, enforcement, etc.) - Desirable

Appropriate recognized Professional HSSE qualifications and memberships.

Good work ethic and personal skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and personal skills to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

Ability to work well with others at all levels and across organizations. Must be able to get results through others without having direct reports.

Ability to work well with minimal supervision.

Proficient in basic computer applications and software such as MS Office programs, Outlook, etc.
